From the Throne: MAFIA Magazine Is Back

Making A Future In Art. Four words, one standard. Every person who has ever landed on a MAFIA Magazine cover answered the same question: how are you making a future in art?

Where it started

MAFIA began in the MySpace era, when there was no magazine yet, only a few promo covers. The idea and those early covers came from co-founder Gordon Gray. Leamon Moseley took it to print and built it into a publication. In January 2010 the magazine moved to Los Angeles, and from an office on South Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills it went out bi-monthly, putting the culture on the cover the way the culture saw itself.

Lil Chuckee. Juelz Santana. Waka Flocka Flame. The Outlawz. 40 Glocc. Ice Cube. Fred The Godson. Those covers are still here, and every one of them is now in the digital archive.

Where it is now

MAFIA Magazine is a MADE Media publication, and it lives digital-first. The 2023 Edition covers carried the same spirit into a new era: Reflection of the Community, Mother's Legacy, Afeni Shakur, Christopher Wallace. Those covers now live on heavyweight tees, so the magazine is something you can read and something you can wear.
